Notice of Enactment of Consequential Amendments Related to the Kahnawà:ke Justice Act

The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Commission wishes to inform the community that consequential amendments to multiple laws as a result of the implementation of the Kahnawà:ke Justice Act were enacted at a Legislative Session (duly convened Council meeting) held 9 Ohiaríha/June 2025, Council unanimously passed the law via Mohawk Council Resolution #2/2025-2026.

The amendments were required to ensure cohesion between Kahnawà:ke laws and to integrate the Kahnawà:ke Justice System more fully into the body of laws. Additionally, various clerical amendments were made for purposes of consistency. These amendments do not affect the substantive law.
